We all have struggles in life. Ups and downs. We focus. We fall off the rails. We put others before ourselves. We survived the pandemic. We pivot. We reset. Almost dying from COVID was my reset.
I've struggled with my weight all my life. I was always the gymnast, cheerleader, and dancer with the "curves". It never bothered me. I never let my weight define my happiness. But when I almost died from COVID, I woke up and decided to make a shift to focus on my overall wellbeing. I'm not ready to die.
It all started with a treadmill desk and making ONE commitment to myself; only one. And that was getting 10K steps per day. This means, just moving (dancing counts as steps too). When you make too many commitments, you do nothing. The next step was to get my nutrition under wraps with my travel schedule. This fell in my lap as a marketing opportunity to work with this company, and I wasn't sure if it was legit. So I observed and joined this 90-day challenge to learn about "Food Is Medicine." What I learned was jaw-dropping.
Just in 90 days, the changes were significant. Weight loss is a side effect of focusing on overall wellness. The inflammation in my body from eating the wrong foods along with many allergies cleared up. My energy levels were better, my sleeping habits were better, my skin, my hair, I could go on and on. It works!
People started to take notice. The messages, DMs, and questions; "what are you doing?" "did you have surgery?" "what pills are you taking?" I've done every diet and tried every pill, but nothing worked long-term nor did it fit my crazy busy lifestyle and travel schedule. It wasn't sustainable. Through A LOT of trial and error, I finally discovered a PATTERN that works for me (while traveling the world). So set the excuses aside and lets GSD together and Walk & Work.
